DW Hammer was recently awarded the boiler replacement, elevator modernization and exterior modifications project at 1200 N Lake Shore Drive in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood. The building is an historic condo building designed by architects Benjamin Marshall and Charles Fox in 1912, and has been home to prominent Chicago families such as Field, Armour and Wrigley over its lifetime.
The DW Hammer Team is currently working to replace and modernize the existing passenger and service elevators, replacement of the buildings original boilers which requires extensive remediation efforts, and some exterior modifications to the neoclassical façade of the building.
The project duration is 12-months due to the need for the project work to be scheduled around heating/cooling seasons to avoid disruption to the residents.
